Ask Your Legislators to Schedule a Town Hall!

From January to April, our state elected officials are meeting in Olympia to draft, discuss, and pass bills and budgets for our state, including ones that protect our environment and the health of our communities. During this time, they hold meetings with constituents to hear from the people they represent - that means you! Attending town halls when your legislators are at work in your community is a critical way to engage with our decision makers on the issues that matter most to us.

This year, town halls are even more accessible to both host and attend, since they take place virtually! If your legislator hasn’t yet scheduled a town hall, asking them to hold one lets them know that their constituents are waiting to hear from them and have pressing concerns about issues in their community.

Send your legislator(s) a message today! Tell you legislator you are eager for them to schedule a virtual town hall and want to hear from them about the policies and issues being discussed in Olympia.

If you get an error message above that says "No officials were found for your area," that means that your legislators have already scheduled a town hall. See our website for more information. Please encourage others to act by sharing on social media.

Hello, my name is _____ and I live in ______.

I am calling to urge you to recognize the value of fully funding environmental programs. Environmental programs are a mere 1.9% of the state operating budget but these programs provide benefits to communities across the state through clean air, clean water, and thriving communities that make Washington a great place to live, work, and play.

Specifically, I hope you will adopt a final budget that maintains funding for existing environmental programs and provide new funding for:

- Oil spill prevention (HB 1611)

- Reducing toxic pollution (HB 2182)

- The Clean Air Rule

- Puget Sound recovery

Thank you for all of your hard work during the 2017 legislative session and for considering my comments. I look forward to hearing from you, I can be reached at __(Phone Number)__.
