Congress OVERWHELMINGLY passed the biggest public lands bill in a decade earlier this year. Thanks to their commitment to our public lands, the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) was permanently reauthorized to protect parks, green spaces, and millions of acres of public lands and waters for future generations. That means LWCF will be around for the long haul. But the fight is not over.
The next step in our campaign is to provide LWCF with full funding to ensure all communities have access to the outdoors and to address the legacy of injustice that has resulted in certain communities -- oftentimes communities of color, indigenous communities, and low-income communities -- lacking equitable access to nearby green spaces. We truly appreciate our champions in Congress for their commitment to fully funding LWCF -- a program that has benefitted almost every county nationwide.
Add your name: Thank Congressional champions for fighting for LWCF.
